8.0 Drivers8.0.2 DriversIf you do not see the sampling driver you need in the table below, please
request a driver.
Before Downloading...
- Use ‘/bin/uname –r’ to get the kernel version.
- Use ‘/usr/bin/md5sum [path to kernel]’ to verify that the checksum for your kernel matches the checksum of the driver you want to download. Typical paths to the kernel are '/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.21-4.EL' and '/boot/efi/efi/redhat/vmlinuz-2.4.21-4.ELsmp'.
- If the checksum does not match, you (a) have selected the wrong driver, architecture, or number of processors or (b) are running a version of the kernel that contains modifications not found in the standard releases and patches.
To complete the driver install, do the following:
- Put the downloaded driver file in the vdk directory – this can be found in the location in which the VTune Analyzer was installed, typically /opt/intel/vtune.
- As root, run the insmod-vtune script from within the vdk directory.
Note: if your kernel is not listed here it means we do not have a driver for it at this time. You can check back later, but we recommend you build the driver. See the
VTune Performance Analyzer Driver Kit for information on building a driver.
