Intel® VTune™ Performance Analyzer for Linux* requires a device driver that was built for the kernel environment you are using. Although Intel VTune Performance Analyzer ships with drivers for supported kernels, new versions of the kernel require updated drivers. The links below allow you to download drivers which may not have shipped with your copy of Intel VTune Performance Analyzer.

Which one should I choose?

  • Use ‘/bin/uname –m’ to choose an architecture;
    • i386, i486, i586, i686 = “IA-32 architecture”
    • x86_64 = “Intel® 64 architecture”
    • ia64 = “IA-64 architecture”
  • Select “Multiprocessor” if ‘/bin/uname –v’ contains “SMP”
