If you have the software product and want to submit a technical question, but do not have a support account or can't log in to your support account, the following solutions may help.

How do I locate my Intel® Software Serial Number?

All the serial numbers you have previously registered, can be found in "My registrations" section of Intel® Software Development Products Registration Center.

All Intel® Software Development Products have a unique Intel serial number in the following format:

XXXX-YYYYYYYY

To find the serial number for the product you purchased, follow the appropriate instructions below for the type of product purchased:

Boxed-Edition
If you purchased a boxed-edition (i.e., if the product was delivered on a CD or other physical media), then your serial number appears on a sticker on the CD case or a letter accompanying the CD.

Electronic Download Product
If you purchased your product online and chose the electronic download version, then your serial number is in the email receipt that you received when you purchased the product. If you did not purchase a product, but registered for an evaluation or non-commercial product at the Intel® Evaluation Software Center, your serial number was emailed to the email address you used to register your product.

If you do not have a serial number and wish to register for an evaluation or non-commercial product:

  1. Navigate to the Intel® Evaluation Software Center.
  2. Select the product that you want to receive an evaluation or non-commercial version.
  3. Enter your email address where you will receive your serial number, product download location and installation instructions.

I registered my product and set up a support account, but forgot my login ID or password.

  1. Go to Intel® Software Development Products Registration Center.
  2. Click on the Forgot Login Id link or the Forgot Password link just below the "Login to My Account" button on the lower right side of the screen.
  3. If you ask for your Login ID, it will be emailed to the registered email address. If you forgot your password, simply answer your challenge question when asked, and you will be able to reset your password immediately.
  4. Once you know your login ID and password, you may log into Intel® Premier Support to submit your technical issue.

I have a serial number and want to set up a support account.

  1. Go to Intel® Software Development Products Registration Center.

Note: If you need help finding the serial number, click the Where can I find my serial number? link just aside the "Serial Number" box.

  9. You may download the product from the URL specified in the email you receive from the Intel® Registration Center. Alternatively, if you have an Intel® Registration Center account, you may download the product immediately (prior to getting the email) by logging into Intel® Software Development Products Registration Center using the login ID and password specified in steps 5 and 6, clicking the Product Download link, then selecting your product from the Product list. A detailed description of the files included in the product will be displayed. Simply click on the hyperlink for each file you wish to download.
  10. If you still do not receive an email with the license file and download instructions, since you set up a support account during the first 8 steps, do the following:
    1. Log In to the Intel® Software Development Products Registration Center using the login ID and password you used when you registered for your evaluation (steps 5 & 6).
    2. Click the My Registrations box.
    3. Choose your evaluation product from the list of registered products.
    4. Write down the serial number for later use in the installation, then click on the Serial Number.
    5. Scroll down to the "License File" box and click on the Resend License File to my email address link (located just below the "License File" box).
Note: If the license still does not arrive in email within an hour, copy the contents of the License File box, without change, into a file using a simple text editor (for example "Microsoft* Notepad" on a Windows* system). Do not change any of the license file contents. Save the file, using a .lic extension (for example, MyEval.lic). You will be able to use either the serial number (automatic installation) or license file (manual installation) during the install.

I successfully registered the product I purchased, but did not receive an email with a license file and download instructions.

  1. Log in to the Intel® Software Development Products Registration Center using the login ID and password you used when you registered your product.
  2. Click the My Registrations box.
  3. Choose your product from the list of registered products.
  4. Write down the serial number for later use in the installation, then click on the Serial Number.
  5. Scroll down to the License File box and click on the Resend License File to my email address link (located just below the "License File" box).
Note: If the license still does not arrive in email within 24 hours, copy the contents of the "License File" box, without change, into a file using a simple text editor (for example "Notepad" on a Windows* system). Do not change any of the license file contents. Save the file, using a .lic extension (for example, MyEval.lic).
  6. Log out of the Intel® Software Development Products Registration Center.
  7. Follow the normal installation procedure. You will use the serial number from step 4 for the normal install. You will use the license file from step 5 if the normal install fails and you need to try a Manual install.

I want to evaluate a product.

  1. Go to Intel® Evaluation Software Center and click on the product you want to evaluate.
  2. Enter your email address on the next screen.
  3. If you would like free technical support, click the support account link at the bottom of the "Serial Number Information" screen. You will receive an email from the Intel® Software Development Products Registration Center with a serial number, license file and instructions to download the product.

I received an "Invalid Serial Number" error when installing.

When entering your serial number during installation, the serial number may be erroneously recognized as invalid causing the install to fail with the error message: "Invalid serial number"

Solution:

  1. Register the serial number at the Intel® Software Development Products Registration Center web site.
Note: You will receive an email within 24 hours with a license file attached. If you do not receive this email, contact us.
  2. Copy the license file to the default system directory where the product will be installed. Example License file location:
    On Windows* \Program Files\Common Files\Intel\Licenses\
    On Linux* /opt/intel/licenses/
    On MAC* /Users/Shared/Library/Application Support/Intel/Licenses
  3. Start the installation again.
  4. Instead of providing a serial number, select the Provide a License File option on Linux*. (On Windows*, you may need to click on the More Options button to make this option visible.)
  5. Provide the complete path to the license file and include the license file name in the path. For example:
    On Windows* c:\Program Files\Common Files\Intel\Licenses\w_cc_cd_eval.lic
    On Linux /opt/intel/licenses/l_cc_cd_eval.lic
    On MAC* /Users/Shared/Library/Application Support/Intel/Licenses/m_cc_cd_eval.lic
The installation should then proceed normally.

I received an "Invalid License File" error when installing.

When installing the program using remote terminal server with a license obtained with the current product or an earlier product you will get an error message: "Invalid license file"

Please make sure that the file you provided at the <license file> prompt is a valid license file with active support for the Intel® product you are trying to install.

Cause:
The FlexLM* version of the product uses increased security features when installing over remote terminal server.

Solution:
You can request your license to be resent to you from the registration center and the updated security information needed to support remote terminal server installs will be added to the license you receive via email.

Re-run the installation. The updated license should be found. You may need to point the installation to the license file name.
