Our
research shows that internet users unnecessarily spend a
significant amount of time waiting on the network. To help
clear this bottleneck, we have developed NAPA, a prototype lab
tool that makes the network usage of applications easily
visible to the developer, enabling them to identify and
eliminate inefficiencies in how their applications use the
underlying network. NAPA is a prototype lab tool and supports
HTTP. By releasing NAPA open source we hope to enable a
community of developers who can apply the technology to other
protocols, benefiting a wide range of applications.
