How the wireless world is expanding
Today, wireless Internet hotspots can be found in more places than ever before. Not only in coffee shops, universities and hotels, you can also find wireless Internet (or Wi-Fi) at places such as sports stadiums, golf courses, skate parks, service stations and bowling alleys.

In the US west-coast city of Seattle, residents can stay connected, informed and entertained in a number of districts—from several parks to the original Starbucks coffee shop to even the Space Needle—on the city's free wireless network.
Singapore, the island city-state in Southeast Asia, is about to complete a major new public/private project that will see large chunks of the 270 square mile city provided with Wi-Fi access by the end of 2008. The entire city, indoors and out, is due to be covered by 2015.
In the coldest capital in Canada, the city residents of Iqaluit (pop. 6,000) enjoy free wireless from one free hotspot (with two more due soon to cover the suburbs), while Taipei, Taiwan (pop. 2.6 million) has a few more—over 4,000 hotspots that provide coverage for 90 percent of the city.
All around the world, public wireless hotspot projects are gathering speed. Connecting to wireless Internet access points with laptop PCs and other wireless-enabled devices in public places is becoming part of the way we live.

Wi-Fi is also extending its reach into our lives. If you're commuting to work in Silicon Valley (in the US) on Caltrain, or to London on the Great North Eastern Railway (in the UK), you can use on-board Wi-Fi to get a head start on the day by checking your email on the way into work.
On the journey home, you can wrap up any work-related loose ends without being tied to the office. You can also wind down by catching up with the news from your favorite blogs, playing one of the latest great games or watching a movie.
Enhance your mobile experience with an Intel Centrino Processor Technology-based laptop, available with the Intel® Core™2 Duo processor. It powers greater multi-tasking performance while enabling improved battery life for your laptop. It also provides expanded wireless capability: from noise reduction filters to flexible roaming features for dynamic access point selection and switching, you can fully optimize your Wi-Fi connections.+
You can connect with confidence as you explore new areas of your favorite cities or visit a new place for the first time. And when you have finished exploring, you can edit photos, go online and update your blog more easily to share your discoveries with the world.
