Intel unveils the fastest way to get to the entertainment you love this summer
SWINDON, UK, June 27, 2006 - Intel, the world's largest chip maker, today unveils a specially designed remote control designed to give the fastest ever access to all your entertainment needs this summer. The design is based on the BMW Sauber F1 Team's racing steering wheels, which incorporate Intel's technology in their design - giving fingertip access to your favourite sports, movies, music and websites.
The Intel Entertainment Driver is prototype designed to work with Intel® Viiv™ technology, which gives you easy access to hours of the latest online digital content - from music, movies, TV and sporting shows to the latest games and family photos. To make sure the entertainment at hand was exactly what the modern male will be looking for this summer Intel conducted a survey of the top upcoming events which are currently whetting the appetite:
1. Summer holidays
2. Watching the FIFA World Cup
3. Wimbledon
4. England's cricket matches
5. Summer music festivals
6. Showing off your holiday photos
7. Formula One Racing
8. The return of James Bond in Casino Royale
9. Rugby League's Challenge Cup Final
10. Fun and games in the Big Brother House
Simon Shipley, Brand Manager at Intel in the UK said "With all your entertainment needs in one place we thought it was time to let people get to what they really want - as quickly as they can. Now people can pick up a steering wheel similar to the one Jacques Villeneuve uses, and watch him powering around the track in Montreal at the touch of just one button. It's the ultimate gadget for the time poor couch potato!"
The Intel Entertainment Driver has been programmed to give shortcuts to all of these great summer activities through just one remote control. And what's more, each remote created can be specially programmed to take you straight to where you want to be this summer - whether it's the pitches in Germany or the beaches in Spain.
