Intel announces a research grants program for academy staff members, as part of the broad cooperation between Intel and the Academy.
The final date for submission of abstracts is April 10th, 2008.

The program goals are:

  1. Encourage faculty members and students to engage in research areas where Intel has interests for short as well as long term.
  2. Achieve research results that may be relevant to Intel.

The grant: 1-2 years grant. In case of 2 years grant, the proposal will be reevaluated after the first year. The amount of the grant is 10,000$-40,000$ per year. The exact amount will be decided per proposal.

Intel mentor will be matched to the researcher only if the abstract is confirmed as relevant. It is a pre-requisite for participating in the program. In preparing the full proposal, the mentor will assist the researcher to put the research proposal together, and will represent the researcher in the relevant research grants committee.

The researcher will issue a progress reports during the year (July). The mentor will have contact with the researcher on a quarterly basis. Intel encourages researchers to visit Intel's campuses and present their results to relevant teams.

Applications will be reviewed by one of the following research grants committees: Communication, Microcomputers or Semiconductors\Manufacturing Technologies.
In special cases we will also review proposals that are not stated in one of the three categories, but are of high interest to Intel.
