As part of Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, Intel in Japan hosted social experience training for 11 teachers belonging to Tokyo Metro Board of Education from July 23~25 (3 days). The training was conducted as part of Government’s mandatory teacher refresher mainly for teachers with 10 year-old service year. Key objective was to increase the teachers’ understanding on the needs of the society where students will dive into after graduation. Education, HR and various business groups supported the training resulting in high teacher satisfaction.

Tokyo Teachers visited Intel for social experience training

As part of Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, Intel in Japan hosted social experience training for 11 teachers from Tokyo Metro Board of Education from July 23~25 (3 days), aiming to increase the teachers’ understanding on the needs of the society where students will dive into after graduation.
The first day was hosted by HR with the agenda including overview of Intel, Intel culture, presentation and demo from Digital Health, Digital Enterprise and Marketing groups. Teachers impressed with Intel’s leadership of making life better with technology and understood the difference and similarity of the private company environment and school environment.
In the second day, teachers enjoyed the WLAN demo in Tsukuba Express, Communicator and e-mail exchange as well as checking the home page of their own schools. They were impressed with Intel’s technology innovation as well as the skill of the employees via the lectures on CPU roadmap, process technology, packaging and tour of TMG-J Lab, Digital Home Lab, Desktop Lab and Tsukuba office.
The last day was hosted by Intel® Education. After Intel Education Overview, the 11 teachers were connected with Korean teachers. Intel Korea Education Manager gave overview of ICT (Information Communication Technology) integration in Korea and Korean teachers introduced real stories on how they used ICT with students. Since it was done through Net Meeting, teachers could experience an example of how technology could enhance communication and sharing between countries. The last activity of the day and the 3 day visit was the 21st Century Skills workshop, where teachers learned how to prepare students better for 21st century through effective lesson planning.
