It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the “Global Symposium on ICT in Education” organized by the Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the World Bank, UNESCO, and the Korea Education & Research Information Service (KERIS) and partnered with Intel Asia Pacific and Inter-America Development Bank (IDB). The symposium will be held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Seoul, South Korea from November 1st to November 4th, 2010. The working language of the symposium is English.
The main focus of this symposium will be to provide policymakers with broad and specific issues of how to build Information Communication Technologies (ICT) in education agencies. The symposium will serve as an initial forum to address critical questions including: How should an education system structure itself to meet new challenges in the area? What roles and responsibilities should a dedicated ICT in education agency possess? What global and regional models for good practices exist? What funding mechanisms exist for such institutions and what are their advantages and disadvantages? How have such organizations evolved over time and what implications might there be for the future? In addition, the symposium aims to develop global cooperative networks so as to increase the sharing of ideas, expertise, and best practices for ICT in education agencies to the mutual benefit of the organizations involved.
We are also pleased to inform you that your participation in the symposium will be sponsored by the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS). Accommodation and meals for the duration of your stay, as well as an economy class round-trip airplane ticket from your home to Seoul, South Korea, by the most direct route, will be arranged for and covered by KERIS. Our staff will contact you regarding your travel after you have confirmed your participation.
