Background
|
Professor Guo-zhi Xu was born in Shanghai, China. He graduated from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1965, where he received the Bachelor Degree from the Department of Radio Engineering, majoring Radio Technology.
Professor Xu joined Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1965 after he graduated, where he became lecturer, associate professor and professor of Electronics Engineering in 1980, 1988, and 1994 respectively. He joined the department of electronics engineering, Shanghai Jiaotong University in 1994. And professor Xu has been selected as the vice dean of the department of information & communication engineering in Xi’an Jiaotong University and selected as the dean of the department of electronics engineering in Shanghai Jiaotong University. He also has been appointed guest professor by Shanghai University since 2002.
Besides the experiences in teaching Industrial Electronics, Digital Logic Design, Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Test in Digital System, and Fault Diagnosis in Analog Circuits, Professor Xu has taken part in design of Single Sideband Transmitter, design and research of IF Amplifier in Onboard Radar, design of Color TV, and the software design of VVMOS FET IC etc. In 1992, he complied “Computer Aided Design”, and translated the “Handbook of Electronics Engineering” in 1993. He has published more than 50 papers in international and domestic journals. For his achievement, Professor Xu has been awarded by Air Force Office of Scientific Research and awarded the second-class award by Education Department of Shan’xi. And in 1997, he was awarded the second-class award by Education Ministry.
Since 1999, Professor Xu and his team have been cooperating with Motorola (Beijing) to develop the applications on Mobile phone, such as “A6188”, “A388” and so on. And in 2000, they began to cooperate with Global Software Division, Motorola in Chicago, on the research on system reliability and availability in communication system and software. Since 2001, cooperating with Intel software Lab. (shanghai), they began to develop the embedded system based on “Strong Arm” chip, Xscale (PXA255, PXA270 etc.).
From 2002, with the sponsor of Intel, the Embedded Design Contest was successfully held for three times. Professor Xu is the general secretary of the contest Organization Committee. In 2002, the contest platform (Jing Wei) is designed by Professor Xu’s research group. And now, the contest scale expanded to 160 teams from 78 universities from China mainland, Hong Kong and Singapore, India, Malaysia, Philippines.
He is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor of E.E. Dept., Shanghai Jiaotong University and a senior member of Chinese Institute of Electronics.

He received B.S. and M.S. in Physics (1983) and Electronic Engineering (1986) from Fudan University, China. Since 1986, he has been with State-Key Lab of ASIC and System Lab, Fudan University. Current he is full professor and vice chairman of Department of Microelectronics, Fudan University. He has also been nominated deputy director of the ASIC and system lab. He joined IEEE membership. He is the TPC members of some influential technical meetings like ASICON, A-SSCC, ICSICT, etc. and the reviewer of academic journals like Journal of Electronics and Journal of Semiconductor, etc. He is the author and/or co-author of over 60 technical papers of conferences and journals. Also, he has filed 12 China patents.

Li Zheng received the B.S. and Ph.D. degree from Tsinghua University, China in 1986 and 1991. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering, Tsinghua University, China. He was a visiting Professor in Georgia Tech during 1994 – 1996.
He has authored/coauthored over 100 publications, including over 20 refereed journal papers and three book chapters. His research interests include production and operation planning and scheduling, production system analysis and information driven manufacturing. He won several important awards such as the Nation Invention Award in 1990, Excellence Young Faculty Award from MOE in 2000, the governmental (The state council of PR China) special subsidy from 2002. Dr. Zheng is a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) and founding chair of IIE, China Chapter.
Dian-fu Ma, born in 1960 in Benxi, Liaoning, is a professor and supervisor of Ph.D., assuming the dean of School of computer in Beihang University.
He received his Ph.D. degree specialized in Computer Software and Theory in July 1999 from the Department of Computer Science, Beihang University. He received his master degree specialized in Computer Software and Theory in July 1989 from Beihang University.
His major research areas includes cooperation environment in high-speed internet, grid computing, web services and computer science visualization etc.
He took charge of The National Basic Research Program (also called 973 Program), National High-tech 863 Program, important project of National Nature Fund, Key Technologies Research and Development Program, and more than ten projects of scientific institutions. He was awarded first prize of aeronautic industry company Science Progress Award for taking part in National High-tech 863 Program ‘Enhanced intelligent workstation’. He took charge of National High-tech 863 Program ‘Research and application of intelligent cooperation with information processing technology’; 'Office automation information network system for scientific ministry of Beijing Chaoyang district’. Now he is leading 973 subprogram ‘Next generation of Internet public service environment based on advanced network’ belongs to 'Theory and method research of massive information organization and processing on network environment’. And he is taking charge of subprogram ‘Software platform for geological geometric form, geological properties depicting and three-dimensional geologic modeling’ belongs to the important project of National Nature Fund ‘Theory of continental oil storage physical geography and method of three-dimensional geologic imaging’.

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and his Ph.D. Degree in Materials Science, all from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China. He has published 80 journal papers and three books, and has been granted 10 patents. His current research interests include advanced electronics packaging technology, lead-free solder materials, conductive adhesive technology, nanomaterials, surface engineering and non-destructive testing. He currently works as Professor of the Materials Science Department, Vice-Director of the MEMS Center in HUST. He also is a Guest Professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and a Research Fellow of Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics （WNLO）.

Yu Hongkun is an associate professor of department of material science of Fudan University. He got his Ph.D. in chemistry department of Fudan University and worked in the national microanalysis center of Fudan University since 1997. He has over eight years experience in surface analysis and failure analysis.
Dr. Yu’s current research interests include failure analysis, packaging process and composite materials. His teaching interests focus on microelectronic packaging and materials analysis.

Dr. Yuxi Fu is currently a full professor at Dept. of Computer Science, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and serving as the Departmental chairman and the dean of the School of Software. Dr. Yuxi Fu is an executive member of the Asian Association for Foundation of Software (AAFOS). His research interest is in theoretical computer science, focusing mainly on the concurrency theory, the type theory and the related issues in formal method.

Zhibin Jiang is Professor and Chairman of Industrial Engineering & Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), Director of the Intel (Shanghai)-SJTU Joint Research & Education Center for Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing System. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in manufacturing engineering & engineering management from City University of Hong Kong in 1999. He is senior member of IEEE and IIE, and 2006-2007 President of Beijing (China) Chapter of IIE. He is member of editorial board of IJPE and IJOE. He has authored more than 80 papers in international journals including IJPR and IEEE Transactions on Reliability, and International conferences. His research interests include modeling & simulation, planning & scheduling of semiconductor manufacturing systems. He has been collected in 2006 － 2007 who is who in Science and Engineering.

Education

Graduated from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1967 with B.S. degree. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University, Stanford, CA, U.S.A. in 1980, and 1985, respectively.

Experience
|
He is presently the professor and deputy director in the Institute of Microelectronics, Tsinghua University, Beijing and China. From 1989 to 2002, he has been a senior research scientist in the Dept. of Electrical Engineering in Stanford University, USA, while serving as the faculty member in Tsinghua. He returned to Tsinghua full time since Oct. 2002. Between 2003 and 2005, he held Pericom (San Jose, USA) Microelectronics Professorship and from 2006 on (for three years) he holds Novellus (San Jose, USA) Microelectronics Professorship.

Research Interests
|
His research interests include device simulation for nanoscaled MOSFETs, quantum transport in nanoelectronic devices, compact circuit modeling of passive and active components in RF CMOS, and numerical analysis techniques.

Publications
|
Dr. Yu has published more than 200 technical papers and is the co-author of a book on TCAD (Technology CAD) in English. A book on RF CMOS circuit design (in Chinese) is in-print from Tsinghua University Press.
Dr. Yu is a senior member of IEEE and served as the Associate Editor of IEEE Trans. CAD of IC & Systems (ICCAD) from 1996 to 2005. He is the member of Modeling and Simulation Subcommittee for 2006 IEDM and the member of program committee for SISPAD 2006 and ASP-DAC ‘07.
