My name is Rukhshanda Bashir and I have been working at Government Crescent Girls High School, CCI since many years. Two months ago Intel® Teach organized a 20 days course for school teachers at IT Village College Sahiwal. I was nominated by the Head of school, but it was very difficult for me to travel 45 km to the venue of training.
I called and requested the program coordinator, South Punjab to organize this course at CCI, and she agreed. For the last three years we had this computer lab with 15 computers “sealed” and locked because of no IT teacher appointed here. But we opened the computer lab for the Intel® Teach training.
The training has a remarkable feature, the fact that we were expected to share what we have learnt with our fellow teachers and our students. This meant that our computer lab, which was closed for the last 3 years, would now be used more often and more efficiently.
I really feel that the training has changed the way I teach, and I can safely say the same for my fellow teachers. Developing students’ interest in whatever they are learning is now a key priority. The training enhanced our training skills and techniques. Now we know how to use computers to facilitate our teaching process. And the best part is that teaching is not confined to classroom. The program is helping us use the power of computer technology to explore the world. We can now collaborate and discuss ideas for using technology in our classroom.
I really appreciate the way the program emphasized the evaluation process that guided the content.
