21st century has revamped the way teacher teaches and student learns, the role of teacher in 21st century has transformed; teacher is no longer information provider but a facilitator who creates the environment for inquiry and research. Intel Education Initiative acknowledges and appreciates such teachers who are true ambassadors of change in this new era through Intel Education Awards.
The awards aim to recognize work of those teachers who are integrating technology seamlessly in their teaching practices. For the year 2009-10 Intel Education Award ceremonies were held during December at Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. 17 teachers and 02 student teachers won technology giveaways in In-service and Pre-service categories.
As institutional leadership is pivotal in implementation of technology and promotion of 21st century skills; 09 principals were awarded “Principal of the Year Award” for their outstanding support towards effective implementation of ICT integration across subject areas and developing collaborative learning environment by facilitating the faculty.
