Intel® Higher Education

In the knowledge economy, technology is a key to global competitiveness. For countries to become or remain competitive, their universities must produce a pipeline of technical innovators who contribute to the advancement of local technology, and the local economy.

To achieve this goal, Intel collaborates with top universities worldwide to expand university curricula, engage in focused research, encourage students to pursue advanced technical degrees, and build local innovation capacity through entrepreneurship so they are able to function in, and shape, the world ahead.

Intel's support of higher education curricula and research extends to more than 150 universities in more than 34 countries, including India. University participation is by Intel invitation only.

Each higher education program is administered locally in its host country or region. This may result in program changes that reflect the local needs of India versus Ireland, for example. This allows the program to reflect the individual needs of the communities it serves.

In India, Intel® Higher Education Program’s key objective is to:

Accelerate the advancement of university curricula to build pipeline and align university research to Intel strategic technology areas and to develop an ecosystem to support new technology adoption and market expansion.

The key strategies of the Intel India Higher education Programs are:
  • Expand the R&D capabilities in India aligned to the site requirements/objectives.
  • Build skilled pipeline for Intel India Staffing requirements.
  • Develop ecosystem to support new technology adoption & market expansion.

To achieve these objectives and strategies, the program works closely with select premier institutions and universities (Intel India Higher Education Focus Institutes) along with the Government of India – Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Communication & IT, Department of Technical Education and other ecosystem partners like NASSCOM, TEQIP to help enrich the quality of technological and intellectual human resource available for the rapidly proliferating technology economy.
