Technology Entrepreneurship Education: Global Faculty Colloquium
About the Colloquium
This Colloquium is a part of the Intel+UC Berkeley Global Entrepreneurship Education Partnership that includes the Technology Entrepreneurship Education: Theory to Practice Seminars, and the Intel+UC Berkeley Technology Entrepreneurship Challenge. These three programs link together to build a complete program for building entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial spirit and activity throughout the world.

Global Faculty Colloquium conducted by Intel in association with University of California-Berkeley provides faculty (about 30 in total) from around the world with details on how to create and operate a multi-disciplinary, multi-functional entrepreneurship center. As part of the training, faculty are recognized as having been chosen as leaders in their geographies and encouraged to help others create successful entrepreneurship centers.

The Colloquium has been designed by Jerry Engel, Executive Director of the Lester Center, in conjunction with the other entrepreneurship faculty at UC Berkeley. The Colloquium will be taught by a select group of entrepreneurship faculty from UC Berkeley and the Haas School of Business.

Global Faculty Colloquium – Spring
In the first phase of the agreement that was signed up by Intel with Department of Science & Technology (DST) and Indo-US Science & Technology Forum (IUSSTF), six participants from India were selected to participate in a global class of 30 at the University of California, Berkeley, US on 16-27 April 2007. The second Global Faculty Colloquium was held in November 2007. The participants, comprising faculty members and people from the industry, were selected by Intel and DST and they received 15-day training at University of California-Berkeley’ Lester Center of Entrepreneurship.

Participants who attended the Global Faculty Colloquium at University of California are certified as Master Trainers and they have engaged themselves to conduct four regional workshops in India. The academicians trained at UC-Berkeley are certified to further train the technology entrepreneur curriculum to students. First of such regional workshop was held on 17 Aug 2007 at IIT Kharagpur.
