Intel was presented with the prestigious Grand Award for CSR by the Korea Economic Daily, a top tier media publication with a circulation of over 1 million copies, at a ceremony on November 30th, 2010.
Intel Korea received the award in the education and learning segment in recognition for the successes of its ongoing Intel Teach Program in the country. Under the program, over 126,000 teachers have received training in developing project based learning approaches to promote problem solving, critical thinking, and collaboration skills among their students, and how to effectively integrate technology into their lesson plans.
Since 2004, the Korea Economic Daily CSR Award has been presented annually to exemplary companies which demonstrate and role model CSR activities in addition to their fundamental economic responsibility for profit maximization and job creation. Companies are evaluated based on three CSR categories;
The selection and screening is performed by academia and industry professionals who evaluate the pervasiveness of the CSR vision throughout the company from senior management to the rank and file employees, the companies specific CSR activities and programs and the partnerships with other organizations to bring them into reality, and the results achieved through the programs.
