Each year in April, Intel employees across Asia Pacific demonstrate their commitment to the environment by celebrating Global Earth Day. This year, Intel Malaysia celebrated Global Earth Day by launching a year of environmental initiatives with the communities of Kulim and Penang.
The initiatives are looking to build on last year’s success which included the award of over RM12,000 to 14 schools who collected 56,774 tons of recyclable waste for the Intel Solid Waste Recycling Program. Since this scheme started in 2003 it has mobilised approximately 100,000 students and teachers within the northern region of Malaysia.
More recently, Intel Malaysia also honoured the women of the company for their contributions and efforts through the Women at Intel Network Conference, which was held on June 30. Guest speaker Diane Bryant, Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Intel Corporation encouraged attendees during “The Future Challenges in Leadership” conference to achieve their full potential as leaders, not just in their careers, but also in technology.
