At
Intel, environmental
consciousness is part of
every aspect of our work. We
strive to minimize our
environmental footprint and
achieve the highest
standards of environmental
consciousness in everything
we do, from how we design
and manufacture our products
to how we build and operate
our facilities, manage
resources, and handle waste
materials.
Each year in April, Intel employees demonstrate their commitment to the environment by performing volunteer work in conjunction with Global Earth Day. In 2009, thousands of employees at our sites around the world participated in a range of Intel sponsored events including cleaning up parks and nature reserves. Intel
is also the co-founder of
the
Climate Savers Computing
Initiative
,
which aims to improve the
power efficiency and reduce
the energy consumption of
computers.
In
2005, Intel became one of
only a few companies in the
world to publicly report our
environmental, health, and
safety (EHS) performance
indicators on a quarterly
basis. By providing our
stakeholders with timely
information about our
emissions, resource usage,
employ injuries and waste
generation, we have raised
the bar in public reporting.
In 2008, Intel was included
for the tenth year in a row
(since inception) in the
Dow Jones Sustainability
Index
and was named Technology
Supersector Leader for the
eighth year in a row in
recognition of our corporate
responsibility performance.
