
Danang Department of Education and Training (DOET) has organized its phase-1 summing up ceremony and launched its phase-2 on 4th January 2008.
There were 250 people attending the ceremony, including the City People’s Committee, leaders and officials of the DOET, local bureaus of education and training, principals, and teachers from participating schools.
From 145 MTs (trained in August 2007), the DOET has expanded the training to 3,150 administrators and teachers. The participating teachers account for 79.12% and 22.86% those of city’s junior high schools and senior high schools respectively.
Mr. Vu Dinh Chuan, DOET Vice Director said: The Program “has been implemented effectively in the city in terms of both quality and quantity. It has helped our administrators and teachers change their awareness of ICT application and teaching methodology innovation, and launched an ebullient movement of ICT application in our educational activities”. For the year 2008, the DOET has set the target to get 100% teachers in the city trained on Getting Started Course.
At the ceremony, the DOET and Intel Education Program in Vietnam granted awards to 128 best performed teachers & schools officials.
