For the last 14 years, Intel Malaysia employees have volunteered their time to give back to the community and help support underprivileged students with its Back2School program.
The Back2School program is a part of Intel’s pledge to be an asset to its communities and contributes to Intel’s other key commitment of striving to transform lives through education. These activities are part of Intel’s strategy of investing in the next generation of innovators and supporting community needs at the local, national and global levels.
Since its inception in 1997, a total of 1900 students have benefitted from the Back2School program. This year students from 24 schools in Penang were invited to participate in the Back2School program. Each student was presented with an Intel Back2School kit which included a schoolbag, stationery and uniforms donated by Intel employees. In addition, eight schools were also the lucky recipients of a laptop.
The program is a collaborative effort between Intel and Penang State Education Department, Penang District Education Office, Kedah Darul Aman District Education Office, SMK Mengkuang and SK Mengkuang (an Intel Involved Matching Grant Program school).
