The Intel® Education Initiative has been working in Pakistan since 2002 to help build competencies such as technology literacy, digital fluency, critical thinking and communication in teachers and students. It has now teamed up with renowned NGO, The Institute of Islamic Studies and Research foundation (IISAR), to help prepare its teachers and students for a bright future.
The initiative is part of the Intel Teach Program which has reached the significant milestone of training more than 215,000 teachers in Pakistan. Since its beginning in 2002, the program has helped teachers learn how to use technology tools and resources to get the best out of their students and equip them for the challenges of an ICT-dominated world.
Farheen Hameed, a teacher of IISAR Foundation says “The education system has improved tremendously. I assign small projects to my class, resulting in increased student understanding of basic concepts and improved test scores as well. I feel that I became a better teacher since I participated in the Intel® Teach Program”.
