2007 CRB Visit to a Rural Elementary School in China
As part of Intel Chairman Dr. Craig Barrett’s 2007 visit to China, Mr. & Mrs. Barrett (Barbara) paid a visit to the Ximingyi Elementary School to see the implementation of Intel® Teach Getting Started (GS) Course in the morning of September 6.

2007 CRB Visit to a Rural Elementary School in ChinaThe students of Ximingyi Elementary School welcomed and greeted Mr. & Mrs. Barrett with bright red kerchiefs. Mr. & Mrs. Barrett walked around the PC classroom which equipped with donated PCs, talking with the students to learn about their study course and listening to a beautiful local song– Knitting Flower Baskets from students. With help from their teacher, Master Teacher of Intel® Teach Getting Started Course (GS) of the school, the students demonstrated their learning which went beyond textbooks to Mr. & Mrs. Barrett.

2007 CRB Visit to a Rural Elementary School in ChinaIn the end of the visit, Dr. Barrett received 2 sets of wonderful presents, i.e. a portrait of Dr. Barrett created by a local MT and 3 letters of thanks from a principal, a MT and a PT. “I can’t express my exciting after attending Intel® Teach GS course, so I spent several days to make this portrait to Dr. Barrett to show my sincerely appreciates to what he contributed to education.” said by Mr. Xie Xiangyang, one of the MT in Henan Province.



2007 CRB Visit to a Rural Elementary School in ChinaWorking with Ministry of Education of China, Intel launched Intel® Teach Getting Started course in China, to target at rural schools in China, through close collaboration with Central MOE’s ‘Rural Distance Education Initiative’. So far, the project has helped over 96,000 rural teachers to improve digital skills and be prepared to better teach 21st century skills for their students.
