On October 20 to 22, the fifth Intel Asia Academic Forum (AAF) was successfully held in Taipei, Taiwan. Over 150 delegates from eight countries participated in the Forum, including 90 faculties and 20 speakers from Intel.
The objectives of the Forum are for attendees to understand the latest Intel technology roadmaps and industry trends, showcase joint projects between Intel in research and curriculum and provide networking opportunities with faculties across the region.
This year’s theme was “Powering the Future: Technology Innovation for a Better World.” Presentations focused on three areas: technology and manufacturing, systems and architecture and software for multi-core. This year, an “Outstanding Research Award” session was added to inspire and recognize outstanding research by academics. Professors from China, India, Japan and Taiwan were commended for their research efforts.
Feedback from all attendees was extremely positive, with one faculty attendee stating that “Intel’s AAF is the best academic forum I have attended [because] you really focus on faculty development.”
