Intel® Teach Program was first introduced in Korea in 2002. Localized and endorsed by KERIS (Korean Educational Research & Information Service) and MOE&HRD (Full Name: Ministry of Education & Human Resource Development) it is now Government’s official ICT teacher training program running in all the 16 provinces in Korea. It has reached over 30,000 K-12 teachers nationwide impacting thousands of students in the country with positive feedbacks. Current operating body is KADO (Korean Agency for Digital Opportunity & Promotion) under MIC (Ministry of Information & Communication), while continued researches and program upgrade is supported by KERIS under MOE&HRD.
Intel Teach Essentials: In-service Program & Pre-Service Program

According to the proven & positive impact on students and teachers, Korea MOE&HRD and Intel signed 5 year agreement to jointly train 400,000 K-12 teachers in the country by 2010, which is in fact 100% of total teacher population, with mutual objectives to strengthen the country global competitiveness back in 2005.
The Agreement also includes training beyond K-12; it also targets to train 3,000 pre-service teachers and faculty as well as school administrators as part of driving holistic impact and changes among the key educational ecosystem.
The major program currently utilized for the training is Intel Teach Essentials; by helping teachers & students with basic ICT integration into subject area using PBL approaches, the program has impacted over 30,000 teachers, hundreds of schools and thousands of students in the country.

The program has reached 30,000 in-service and 1,000 pre-service teachers as of Mar 2007. According to annual impact evaluation results, over 90% of teachers trained are using the program back in the classroom to benefit teaching and learning.
Intel Teach Thinking with Technology Program
Especially aligned with Korea’s focus on creative education, Intel Teach Essential program’s advanced version, Thinking with Technology, was introduced in the country in 2007.
Over 40 national leaders were trained early this year, co-hosted by MOE&HRD and Intel and 16 provincial Education Offices are preparing to expand this program to over 1,000 teachers during the summer vacation of 2007. Proven as very unique program focusing on students’ higher thinking through the pilot workshop, this program received very positive feedbacks from government officers and teachers.
