3.Issue: Unable to customize or change the default boot logo to a customised boot logo (i.e. reseller/customer name). Boot logo default is the ODM name.
Solution: Requires a Bios flash update. There is a flash tool (utility) available for download that will change the Boot logo from the ODM name to the customer's name. In some countries this consistent name between the boot screen and the name on the platform is required by law.

6.Issue: System will not start, no power, or will not boot up.
Solution: Disassembling, assembling, upgrading and troubleshooting computers should be performed only by a computer professional since the electronic devices may cause serious damage to the installer, the system and its components if it is done improperly. Before attempting to disassemble or assemble notebook computers, carefully review the documentation specific for the laptop computer and its related components. Also, make sure to follow Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedures.
- Determine if the system worked before.
- Ensure that all of the installed components are properly seated.
- Determine if there have been any recent changes. Often, recent changes are the cause of the problem. If recent changes have been done, verify the configuration of those changes. If a new device was installed, suspect that the new device is causing the problem. This can be done by replacing the suspect device with a known working device and trying that device in a known working machine.
- Check the LCD panel brightness and contrast controls.
- If attempting to run the laptop from battery, try running the laptop from the AC adapter. If it works with the AC adapter, the problem may be with either the battery pack or the charging system. If the battery pack or charging system are the problem, contact Intel Customer Support.
- Use a voltmeter or an AC tester to confirm that there is adequate AC voltage at the wall outlet.
- An AC adapter can be tested with a voltmeter (measuring DC voltage) whereas the output should be +/-.3 volts.
- Check for shorts and overloads inside computer by removing nonessential items such as wireless LAN device, optical disk drive, and/or hard disk drive, just to see if the machine attempts a Power-On Self Test.
- Make sure that the laptop computer supports the processor that you are installing including type of processor, speed and voltage. Note: Mobile processors are not interchangeable between all mobile chipsets. For example, an Intel® Pentium M processor does not work in a system that is made for a mobile Intel® Pentium III processor and vise versa. Barebones notebooks that are Verified by Intel® are based upon the Mobile Intel® 945 and 940GML Express Chipset Family. As such, the only processors that will work in these systems are: Dual-Core: Intel® Core™ Duo processor 2300, Intel® Core™ Duo processor 2400, Intel® Core™ Duo processor 2500, and Intel® Core™ Duo processor 2600. Single-Core: Intel® Core™ Solo processor 1300.
- If you just installed a processor, make sure that you have inserted the processor completely in the socket and that the processor is oriented correctly. In addition, make sure that the screw that locks the processor in place is adjusted correctly. Check the laptop service manual for the correct orientation.
- Swap any detachable RAM and the processor with known good replacements one at a time. If suspect one of these components, try it in another laptop computer. In addition, if you installed RAM into the notebook computer, make sure that the RAM is on the tested memory list for the laptop computer.
- If the problem still exists, you need to contact Intel Customer Support.

7.Issue: Quanta SW1 (QSW1945GM1) systems w/ BIOS revision Q3A61 - System Standby function is not working correctly when activated by the lid switch. The Q3A61 BIOS sets the laptop lid switch to toggle. There are two conditions that exist as a result:
Symptoms: - Under normal use conditions and the laptop lid is closed, the laptop goes into standby mode. (expected)
- If the laptop is already in standby mode and then the lid is closed, the laptop comes out of standby. (not expected)
Solution: No solution is currently available. Until a newer BIOS revision is available, it is recommended that customers ensure that the laptop is not already in standby before closing the lid.

8.Issue: After installing the Compal1 GL31 BIOS (version GL30-003), the notebook fan runs at full speed and does not turn off or slow down while the system is running. The BIOS boot screen shows an UNKNOWN Project ID error and question marks by the BIOS version number.
Solution: This problem can be corrected by installing the latest BIOS (version v101A or newer).

9.Issue: Camera driver issue. Asus1 S96J (AS96J945PM1) Sertek Camera (BisonCam) not able to install successfully via autorun from the driver install CD that was shipped with the system.
Root cause: Autorun is pointing to wrong setup file.
Solution: Manually run the setup.bat file rather than the setup.exe file. There is a new CD image that fixes the problem. All S96J systems shipped after July 1, 2006 should have the autorun problem corrected on the new drivers CD (version 2.0). As a work-around, the camera driver can be downloaded and installed manually.

10.Issue: Quanta1 Manager (KB Manager1 version 2.17 that is shipped on the drivers CD) has errors running Chinese version of Windows XP.
Symptom: When using Chinese version of Windows1 XP, an error message window will pop up when rebooting system every time. Also, the 5 shortkeys that are supposed to be used by the KB Manager will function, but no icon is displayed on LCD.
Solution: A new version of the KB Manager utility (version 2.23) fixes the problem. This new file is available for download.

11.Issue: Asus1 S96J (AS96J945PM1) will not resume from standby. ASUS S96J with latest BIOS (Z96JS-ASUS-0601.ROM) and ATI video driver (V8.233-CCC-060308a-031601C_logo.zip) will not resume from standby (lid close - goes into standby, open lid - system seems to wake up, hard drive seems active, but screen never comes on and system appears hung).
The only way to recover is to either pull the battery or to hold down the power button until the laptop power shuts off.
If only using the standard VGA driver instead of the ATI graphics driver, there is no options to send the system into standby.
This problem also causes a BSOD on occasion.
Solution: Memory compatibility issue. Change SODIMM (from a different memory vendor).
