Non-permanent PSA is designed to release easily and cleanly from the laptop surface. Consequently, accidental early peeling away of the panel is possible. The temporary PSA can be re-positioned while applying within approximately 15 minutes. Intel does not recommend attaching or re-attaching a customizable laptop panel with a separately purchased adhesive, as some adhesives can interact with the laptop system enclosure in unpredictable ways. Construction materials vary from provider to provider1. Consequentially, performance features such as physical durability and color fading will vary. Surface Finishes Suppliers offer customizable laptop panels in a variety of surface finishes such as glossy or various types of matte finish (matte, velvet, crystalline, etc). Glossy finishes tend to scratch more easily and are not recommended. Glossy: The surface is reflective and at small angles a clear image is reflected. Matte: The surface does not reflect a clear image regardless of the angle from which it is viewed. Graphics Selection Customizable laptop panel designs are available in a variety of preconfigured designs available on this Web site and on some vendor sites. You may also develop your own design for printing by a capable vendor. When developing a custom design, please ensure that the software package being used to develop the design is compatible with the printing systems for your vendor of choice. Also, please ensure to meet any additional requirements such as color or resolution limits, trademark usage or legal restrictions. Finally, please ensure that the image you select reflects the image and the style that you are trying to project when people see your unique laptop in use. 1Regulatory Requirements The customizable laptop panel is not an Intel product, but rather, an ingredient of the Intel Interchangeability Initiative that has been enabled by Intel. Accordingly, it is the responsibility of the integrators/sellers (not Intel) to ensure that the panels they purchase comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and obtain all the safety and other certifications necessary to import, sell and/or use the panels in countries targeted by the integrators/sellers. UL / Safety: The panels are considered a trim part that will be applied to the exterior of the laptop. The PANELS are not UL qualified or considered part of the required fire enclosure. The minimum flammability rating for the panels should be of FLAMMABILITY CLASS HB, or FLAMMABILITY CLASS HBF. The customizable laptop panel should be applied to a qualified fire enclosure as defined in the IEC 60950 series of standards by the ODM or assembly/manufacturer of the laptop unit as a final product. Other potentially applicable regulatory requirements: The panels may be required to meet the requirements of the European Union RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances) and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and Packaging directives. Similar requirements may exist in countries outside of the European Union. There may be other potentially applicable regulatory requirements not mentioned above. | |||
