To take advantage of the acoustic benefits of the variable speed fan heatsink included with your boxed Intel® Pentium® 4 processor at 3.06 GHz, be sure to orient your processor fan heatsink with the fan cable positioned relative to the system airflow direction, as shown in the example. (The internal system airflow direction may vary depending on your chassis configuration.)

This installation procedure is only required for the boxed Intel® Pentium® 4 processor at 3.06 GHz. Processors affected by this requirement include a yellow flyer in the box, indicating the proper fan heatsink installation orientation.
