IntelR Desktop Boards D845PESV, D845GEBV2,
D845GERG2, D850EMV2**, and D845PEBT2 with Precision
Cooling Technology (fan control) have been
programmed with incorrect default settings. The
default shipping configuration limits maximum front
and rear system chassis fan speeds at 30% of
maximum regardless of system temperature. This may
not provide enough cooling under all
circumstances.
Note: The desktop board processor fan header is not controlled by the motherboard and is not directly affected.
New BIOS revisions that correct this issue for the affected products should be available on the web for download by next week. Please check the desktop board BIOS download website for updates:

Until this BIOS fix is available, the following workaround can be used to disable system chassis fan control:
** Only certain D850EMV2 skus with Intel Precision Cooling are affected. These SKUs are identified as boxed and bulk product BOXD850EMVR / BLKD850EMVR and BOXD850EMVRL / BLKD850EMVRL
