The Intel® Xeon® processor with 512KB L2 cache is
available in a 603 pin INT3 processor package type.
The Intel Xeon processor with 512KB L2 cache is
designed to work in single or dual processor
configurations and has been validated by Intel on
the following chipsets: Intel 860 chipset and Intel
E7500 chipset.
Use of the Intel Xeon processor with 512KB L2
cache in a ServerWorks* GC-HE chipset based system
has not been validated and is not an Intel
supported configuration. Attempting to boot with
this processor/chipset combination may cause issues
ranging from system instability to non-booting.
Furthermore, the Intel Xeon processor with 512KB L2
cache will not allow any more then two processors
to boot in the same system. Intel strongly
recommends that customers only use validated
chipset and processor combinations.
Using Intel® Xeon® Processor MP in an Intel 860 Chipset, or Intel E7500 Chipset-Based Platform
The Intel® Xeon® processor MP available in either
512KB L3 cache or 1MB L3 cache, utilizes a 603 pin
INT3 processor package type and is designed to work
in a four processor and above configuration. This
processor has been validated on the ServerWorks*
GC-HE chipset only.
Use of the Intel Xeon processor MP in an Intel
860 chipset or Intel E7500 chipset based system has
not been validated and is not an Intel supported
