The M-0 stepping Boxed Intel® Xeon™ processors require a new BIOS. The latest BIOS may need to be installed prior to installing the M-0 stepping Boxed Intel® Xeon™ processor. The correct BIOS will incorporate the latest microcode update package. Contact your motherboard manufacturer to obtain the latest BIOS.

The M-0 stepping Boxed Intel® Xeon™ processors include the following:

Intel® Xeon™ Processor with 2-MB L3 cache at 3.2 GHz 
Intel® Xeon™ Processor with 1-MB L3 cache at 2.4, 2.8, 3.06, and 3.2 GHz 
Intel® Xeon™ Processors with 512K L2 cache at 2.4, 2.66, and 2.8 GHz
