The Intel® Express Installer CD included with the D850GB and D850GBAL does not install the Intel INF Update Utility when running under Windows Me. Installation of this utility under Windows Me is necessary to enable AGP Fast Writes. Failure to install this utility will result in sub-optimal performance.
It is important that the Intel INF Update Utility be installed prior to installation of any other drivers. The utility should be loaded manually off the CD, before any drivers are loaded by the Intel Express Installer. The utility is located on the Intel Express Installer CD in the directory D:\SOFTWARE\INF\, where D is the drive letter of your CD drive. Run SETUP from this directory. After the INF update is installed, let the Express Installer load the rest of the necessary drivers for Windows Me.
The Intel INF Update Utility will be installed directly from the Intel Express Installer CD with Windows* 98SE and Windows* 2000. No special procedure changes are necessary for driver installations under Windows 98SE or Windows 2000.
