BIOS update version P19 incompatible for Intel® Desktop Board D845GVSR systems with 0.18 micron Pentium 4 and Celeron Processors (code-named Willamette)
This communication applies to Intel® Desktop Board D845GVSR.
With the release of BIOS version P19 on the 28th of March 2005, the microcode for the Pentium 4 and Celeron Processors based on the 0.18 micron process (code-named Willamette) has been removed due to BIOS space constraints. D845GVSR customers still using the above processors should update to BIOS P19.
The P19 BIOS update was optimized to incorporate the latest processor updates. The complete version number is VA84510A.86A.0052.P19.
Background: The D845GVSR desktop board support for the Pentium 4 and Celeron Processors based on the 0.18 micron (Willamette) was discontinued in March 2004. However, the BIOS microcode support was retained through BIOS version P18.
The 0.18 micron Pentium 4 Processor range is between 1.30 GHz and 2.0 GHz, with 400 MHz system bus and 256 KB L2 cache size.
The 0.18 micron Celeron Processor range is between 1.70 GHz and 1.8 GHz, with 400 MHz system bus and 128 KB L2 cache size.
To identify the processor type on your system, you may download an Intel Processor Identification utility from this location:

If the utility identifies your processor to be within the range stated above, it is advised that the system BIOS to remain at P18 and below.
