Additional Technologies
Multiply server performance.
Multiply the possibilities.
Dual-Core processing allows two complete processing units (cores) to run in parallel on a single chip, virtually doubling processing capability¹ without a comparable increase in power consumption. With servers based on Intel® Xeon® processors, your customers can handle heavier workloads, run more business applications at the same time and support an increased number of users simultaneously, thus resulting in higher productivity and longer life for their server investment.
Processor availability
Intel currently has over 17 multi-core processor designs underway. It is expected that 70 to 85 percent of all new desktop, mobile and server processor shipments will be dual-core by the end of 2006. This will drive wide availability and volume pricing, so businesses have increasingly powerful, flexible and cost-effective computing solutions they can deploy with confidence.
