Collaboration and reference heat sink designs
The following is a list of heatsinks that have been designed by third party suppliers for Intel or per Intel's specification.
Reference design
Intel designs the heat sink to meet the thermal and mechanical specifications of the Intel® CPU and socket. Intel outsources the manufacturing of the heat sink to a supplier. Intel owns manufacturing tooling assets; however, the suppliers are authorized to sell this part number to any customer.
Collaboration design
Intel specifies the boundary conditions, retention parameters, and design intention to meet the thermal and mechanical specifications of the CPU and socket. Suppliers design the heat sink using their materials technology and manufacturing process.
Both the Intel reference design and collaboration heat sinks have completed thermal, mechanical, and environmental testing.

Third-party heat sink designs
Intel specifies the boundary conditions, retention parameters, and design intention to meet the thermal and mechanical guidelines of the CPU and socket. Suppliers submit samples to Intel for minimal component thermal and heat sink load testing.
Third-party heat sink designs are listed by Intel as a convenience to Intel's general customer base, but Intel does not make any representations or warranties whatsoever regarding tooling status, quality, reliability, functionality, or compatibility of these devices.
System thermal, mechanical, shipping, and environmental reliability testing with customer-specific boards and systems is the responsibility of the customer. Supplier offerings may be subject to change without notice.
