Hard disk drive

The Common Building Blocks (CBB) hard disk drives are 2.5 inch drives with 9.5mm drive height, the most commonly available type for laptops. They are available in two connector types, Parallel ATA (PATA) and Serial ATA (SATA), and come in a variety of capacities.

The hard disk drives are interchangeable by same connector types only; that is, PATA drives can interchange with PATA drives only, and SATA with SATA.
