Follow these guidelines for creating a customizable laptop panel from your own artwork.
First and foremost, please be aware of these content limitations and potential problems.
Obey copyright or trademark laws that apply in the country of intended use. Do not use materials that you do not have a right to use.
Overall appearance and colors differ from provider to provider and may differ from lot to lot. Consequently, you may want to order additional panels for Return Materials Authorization (RMA) or other replacement purposes in advance.
Two colors that are the same under one lighting condition (e.g., daylight) may be much different under different lighting (e.g., florescent lights). Any color matching should be done with specific lighting conditions in mind.
Textures and surface features may affect the perceived color.
Customizable laptop panel manufacturers use different processes to deposit an image. Different processes have different capabilities in terms of color, resolution, and general appearance. Screen printing can not produce fine color gradients. Please be aware of the limitations and advantages of each process. It's a good idea to discuss any design limitations with your chosen panel vendor before engaging with a graphic designer. They can often work hand in hand to avoid a lot of additional time, cost, and frustration. Ask your vendor if they have any Design Guidelines available to assist with the artwork creation
You may want to consider receiving a physical sample prior to committing for a large order.
Due to the limited color gamut of many computer displays, the customizable laptop panel provider may offer colors outside of the capability of your computer screen to display it. If you want a metallic appearing finish you should choose a printer that does screen printing. Custom color mixes are typically available for screen printed panels. Additional setup cost and lead time may be required.
Vendors referenced on this site prefer to receive artwork in specific formats. All use Adobe* Illustrator* (.AI) format. Other panel vendors may accommodate other formats. However, providing imagery in a non-preferred format may result in a loss of resolution. Microsoft* Word* or Power Point* slides will not produce quality images and are not recommended.
