Intel® Storage System SS4000-E: My hard drives are not detected, for instance Western Digital WD2500JS SATA,what is the reason of this?

By factory default, the above disk enables SSC (Spread Spectrum Clocking); however, the GD31244 SATA controller used in Intel Storage Server SS4000-E does not support SSC.

To disable SSC in the above hard drive, please remove jumper in pins 1 and 2 with reference to the picture label on hard disk. Please consult manufacturer documentation for more information if you are using a different hard drive from a different manufacturer that features SSC as well. Please always make sure to use the hard drives that have been tested by Intel®.
