Intel® Leap Ahead™

Cuatrecasas – Translating IT into business excellence

Company:
Cuatrecasas was founded in 1917 by Emilio Cuatrecasas Buquet. Its presence throughout the Iberian Peninsula results from a merger with the Portuguese firm Gonçalves Pereira, Castelo Branco and Associados in 2003. It currently has offices in 22 cities in Europe, the Americas, Asia and North Africa. It has a very strong presence in the legal services market segment in Iberia and Latin America, where it advises on Spanish, Portuguese, French and community law. With a team of more than 1,000 lawyers, Cuatrecasas is one of the leading legal firms on the Iberian Peninsula, and specialises in various areas of business law.

Challenge
  • To continue delivering optimum business process efficiencies and high IT service levels – first by powering off PCs, then by taking control of remote PC management and system recovery in all offices around the world.
  • Control of operational risks – Galvanising existing and already-robust network and PC security, delivering industry-leading operational risk mitigation through an end-to-end secure infrastructure.
  • Migration – Ensuring software distribution and setup, power-up and power-down can take place without user interaction.

Solution
  • An evaluation of 600 HP desktop PCs powered by Intel® Core™2 processors with vPro™ technology showed remote power-down can save up to 10 percent per year on energy costs. The time to reconfigure a PC after hardware or software issues was reduced from 24 hours to just two, and desk-side visits were reduced by 20 percent with a corresponding 10 percent drop in costs.
  • Cuatrecasas plans to deploy HP desktop PCs powered by Intel® Core™2 processors with vPro™ technology in its branches around the world, with a view to activating even more advanced management features.
