- With its Future Hospital initiative, Asklepios wanted to optimize patient care and increase collaboration of physicians across the organization.

Solution
- Asklepios worked with a number of technology and service providers, including Intel, to develop its first Reference Centre of the Asklepios Future Hospital Program
- A wireless LAN was deployed across the hospital, incorporating IEEE 802.11 standards a, b and g, and supported by 550 Cisco* access points
- The WLAN provides access to the hospital information system (HIS) and picture archiving and communications system (PACS), which run on a range of servers, powered by Dual-Core Intel® Xeon® 5100 series and Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® 5300 series processors and Dual-Core Intel® Itanium® processor 9000 series.
- Staff access the WLAN using a combination of tablet PCs and PDAs powered by Intel® Centrino® processor technology
