Unprecedented Event Brings Together Employees, Start-Ups, and Mobility Business Unit Executives to Stimulate Networking and Innovation.
Where can the most innovative technology entrepreneurs worldwide get exposure to key Intel mobility executives and decision-makers in one location? That was the objective of a “Mobility Day” recently hosted by Intel Capital at the company’s headquarters in Santa Clara, California.
Intel Capital, Intel’s global investment organization, organized this event to drive business and technology collaboration with its mobility business units. Participants included Intel Capital portfolio companies and other entrepreneurs screened for their leading edge technology. During a collaborative “Demo Day,” hundreds of Intel employees stopped by to check out the latest innovations that could impact their lives.

A select number of companies made “elevator pitch” presentations to Intel mobility executives, during which they outlined areas of potential engagement. Intel Capital portfolio companies included HelloSoft, Skyhook Wireless, Soonr, SkyCross, PGP Corporation, Mirics Semiconductor, mFormation Technologies, and CarrierIQ. Following their presentations, Intel executives met to identify key areas for potential collaboration.
Intel Capital Mobility Day was based on the successful Intel Capital Technology Day format which brings together portfolio companies and technology decision-makers from Global 2000 corporations. Intel Capital hosted 65 such events in 2008 with more than 80 percent of introductions made resulting in further business discussions.
Participating companies and mobility executives, as well as Intel employees, were thrilled with the results of this Mobility Day. It was a unique opportunity to bring together innovators and executives to explore mutually beneficial collaboration.
