Moscow, January 29, 2009 - Intel Russia and CIS introduce Igor Taber as the new Intel Capital director in Russia.
Igor Taber will be responsible for all investment activities of Intel Capital in this region including investments in Russian and CIS companies and representing interests of Intel Capital at boards of portfolio companies.
Igor Taber has been working in Intel for seven years in US, Germany and Russian offices. He started to work as marketing manager of Intel Communications Group and then became business development manager. In 2005–2008 Igor was controlling WiMAX program transactions with largest carriers in the USA, Russia and Eastern Europe. In 2002–2004 he was technical and strategic advisor of vice president and general director of Intel WiMAX Group.
Igor Taber graduated from Kansas University where he specialized in computer engineering. Now he is working on his MBA at Wharton Business School.
Intel Capital has invested actively in Russian companies since 2002 and has a good record of financial and strategic successes in the region. The largest projects of Intel Capital are Akella, SWSoft, Ru-Net, Alternet, etc.
