Intel Capital CEO Summit 2008Intel Capital held its ninth annual Intel Capital CEO Summit on June 2-5, 2008 at the historic Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. The deals, primarily led by Intel Capital, include: India-based Vriti Infocom (online education); Czech Republic-based Internet Mall (online retail); and several U.S.-based companies including Accertify (online security), TOA Technologies (workforce management software), Grid Net (energy efficiency, smart grid), HealthiNation (online health), Vostu (social networking with a Latin America focus) and Veoh Networks (online videos). Based on a record number of matchmaking participants, more than 90 percent of portfolio companies and industry executives rated the meetings as directly relevant to their business and over 78 said they planned specific follow-up actions. In 2007, Intel Capital hosted 78 Intel Capital Technology Days with leading customers around the world. These are localized, structured matchmaking events that typically bring approximately 10 portfolio companies together with Global 2000 industry executives for a day of introductions, customer briefings, technology presentations, and demo showcases. Intel Capital CEO Summit 2007Intel Capital held its eighth annual CEO Summit on May 9-11, 2007 at La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. It was attended by a record breaking number of attendees from Intel Capital portfolio companies and Global 2000 companies. The event included keynote presentations, panel discussions, elevator pitches, and matchmaking meetings between portfolio company CEOs and industry executives as part of the focus on learning and deal-making. Intel Capital also hosts Intel Capital Technology Days (ITDs) , localized structured matchmaking events similar to CEO Summit. ITDs occur throughout the world and have recently debuted in Latin America and the Middle East. Last year, Intel Capital hosted 53 ITDs around the globe with 435 appearances by its portfolio companies. So far this year, Intel Capital has hosted 33 ITDs with 241 portfolio company appearances and companies such as Procter and Gamble, Telefonica, Sprint, and Target participating.
