Intel Oregon, Intel's largest and most comprehensive site in the world, is a global center of semiconductor research and manufacturing and an anchor tenant of Oregon’s economy.
Oregon facilities development summary
Intel's capital investments in Oregon since first acquiring property in 1974 total approximately $ 20 billion. The sequence of major campus openings is a follows:
- Aloha—(land bought in 1974, Fab 4 opened in 1976)
- Hawthorn Farm—1979 (HF1 opened)
- Jones Farm—1982 (JF1 opened)
- Cornell Oaks—1984
- Amber Glen—1996
- Ronler Acres—1996
Community giving
Intel Oregon employees and retirees raised a record-setting $ 4 million for local charities in 2010 through Intel’s Community Giving campaign in association with United Way of the Columbia-Willamette. With the Intel Foundation match, the total contribution to local charities through the campaign was $ 6.8 million. Intel Oregon has been recognized by the United Way with several awards, such as the Largest Total Employee Giving Campaign Award, the Largest Corporate Gift and Campaign Chair Award and the Corporate Leadership Award.
Education
In 2010 Intel invested $ 1.3 million in K-12 education in Oregon and $ 727,000 in higher education. This includes funds generated from the Intel Involved Matching Grant Program. When Intel employees volunteer in classrooms, they generate a $ 10 Intel Foundation match for every hour of volunteerism.

- Participation in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF)
- Intel Science Talent Search (Intel STS)
- Support for Intel Oregon LEGO* League Robotics tournaments
