- Our Collaborative Research Initiatives
Intel realizes, when it comes to transforming healthcare, we're all in this together. That's why, along with our own efforts, we have provided numerous grants to universities across the globe for healthcare-related research. We have also collaborated to create a wide range of healthcare initiatives. Including:
Technology Research for Independent Living (TRIL) >
The Technology Research for Independent Living (TRIL) Centre—a groundbreaking research collaboration, funded by GE Healthcare, Intel Corporation and the Irish government, to address the physical, cognitive and social consequences of ageing. The goal of the TRIL initiative is to develop new technologies to help older people maintain their independence and to age in place from wherever they call home. Researchers from three Irish universities and Intel participate in the TRIL Centre, applying a multidisciplinary research model and actively involving study participants in co-creating technology solutions.
Center for Aging Services Technologies (CAST) >
We were instrumental in founding an international coalition of more than 400 technology companies, aging-services organizations, research universities, and government representatives. CAST is leading the charge to expedite the development, evaluation, and adoption of emerging technologies that can improve the aging experience.
Everyday Technologies in Alzheimer Care (ETAC) >
The Alzheimer's Association and Intel have formed an unprecedented consortium to address the needs of the estimated 4 million people in the United States living with Alzheimer's disease. Our commitment to ongoing research aims to help spur development of home-based technologies and new models of care.
Oregon Center for Aging and Tech (ORCATECH) >
ORCATECH was formally established in 2004 through a National Institute on Aging Roybal Center grant. The Center fosters and stimulates translational innovation through a number of mechanisms including its multidisciplinary, multi-institutional council, composed of academic, community, and industry leaders, building new national and international research collaborations, providing support to existing research studies, as well as developmental support through the ORCATECH Living Laboratory.
