The Intel® Server System SR1680MV is a modularized rack server providing two independent dual socket/18DIMM nodes in a 1U chassis. This cable-free, half-width system is purpose-built to meet your increasing compute density needs. The high memory capacity and flexible I/O capability make it ideal for virtualization and a broad range of HPC applications.

Featuring support for up to four Intel® Xeon® processors 5500 or 5600 series, 36 DDR3 memory DIMMs, two PCI Express* 2.0 riser cards, and two Intel® I/O Expansion Modules in the same space as a standard SSI system, the Intel Server System SR1680MV delivers all of the benefits of two dual-socket server systems in a single 1U standard rack mount.

Extensive DDR3 memory capacity and bandwidth A total of 36 registered or unbuffered DIMMs (18 per board) at up to 1333 MHz, and 6 memory channels ensure sufficient bandwidth and memory capacity for all of your virtualization requirements.
Flexible and expanded I/O Each node features an independent flexible and pluggable I/O tray which supports a PCI Express* 2.0 X8 riser plus your choice of either a 10Gbe or QDR Infiniband* expansion module via the Intel® I/O Expansion Module connectors.
Cable-free and pluggable design Maximize your up time with this modularized, cold-swappable design, featuring an independent, cable-free main board that can be removed without shutting down both nodes. The main board and I/O board both sit on separate aluminum trays and are connected via a high speed PCI interconnect.
High-efficiency power supply A single high-efficiency (80-plus Gold) 1100-watt PSU supports both nodes independently via pluggable smart-power connectors and power distribution board design.
Flexible storage configuration Up to 4 2.5" hot swap SATA HDD (two HDD per node) support OS mirroring capability on each node.
